This course prepares doctoral students to apply qualitative research methods for research within the design disciplines. Students will explore qualitative methods most relevant to their doctoral studies, including case study research, ethnography, grounded theory, content analysis, and/or visual analysis. This course places emphasis on thematic analysis, while honing students techniques for interviewing, observing, and data coding.
